Yes it is called IBM Connect now, and the Closing General Session wraps up around 4:30 in the afternoon, but the true closing session takes place many hours later when Mat Newman finally removes his badge (well has his badge removed). Â The honor this year was given to Amanda Bauman.

SHOW304 : How to Create a Perfect Profile: A Hitchhiker’s Guide to A Smarter Workforce Date/Time : Mon, 27/Jan, 02:00 PM-03:45 PM Room : Swan-Osprey 1 & 2
Profiles are the centerpiece of IBM Connections and your social business. IBM Connections ships with scripts to connect to your LDAP Directory. However, most organizations also need to integrate HR data to build complete profiles and reporting structure.
In this session we will teach you step-by-step how to add custom fields to your Profiles configuration, and how to populate data from multiple sources including LDAP and HR systems.
On Wednesday I will be presenting in the Best Practices track
Learn how you can leverage the data in your existing on-premises or cloud systems (LDAP, Profiles, Active Directory, and others) to automatically provision users in IBM Smart Cloud for Social Business. This session will provide a basic introduction to Tivoli Directory Integrator, and how to connect to multiple data sources to create users in IBM SmartCloud.
We will cover user the automation of user creation, changes, and deletions, as well as explain different enrollment and log in methods available to your users.
Looking forward to seeing many of you in Orlando in a few weeks.
Last week at IBM Connect Chris Whisonant and I presented a Show and Tell Session on IBM Notes Traveler High Availability. Â One of the attendees at the session was a developer from the Traveler team. Â I had worked with Smith (actually his first name not an alias) Â many times before during Traveler Betas, and on a couple of PMR, but met him for the first time at a Birds of Feather session on Traveler that morning.
While I was confident in my knowledge on the subject, a couple of times while presenting it occurred to me “would the developers agree with that?”. Â At the end of the session Smith has only one complaint, which I promised I would clarify when I got back home, and it was about this slide.
Probably because I have been working with Domino for years, it was easy for me to fall back on using the word ‘cluster’ to describe Traveler in an HA Config, but as the slide indicates, Traveler Servers are not Domino Clusters. Â So what should we call them?
The developers refer to them as HA pools, and Pool Members, so going forward I will use those terms to describe Traveler in an HA Config, it does make it easier to keep things straight.
I was also relieved that this was the only slide Smith had any issues with 🙂
Most people believe that when the Closing General Session ends Lotusphere is over.  Lotusphere isn’t over though until the official closing ceremony much later on that  night.
15. Sleep – quality not quantity , Fibit ‘Sleep Efficiency’ average of 97% for the week
16. 7 AM BOFs are early and hard to get to, but if you make it they prove to be quite productive sessions
17. Time moves way to fast at IBM Connect the days and the week just flew by
18. I didn’t use these, but they were a great idea and looked like they got quite a bit of use
19. Nine years at Lotusphere and Countless visits to Kimonos and I finally got up on stage at Kimonos this year (in unrelated news, there was some awful Karaoke this year)
