With Apologies to Mr. Mooney

Sorry Paul couldn’t help myself, living in New Jersey isn’t perfect, but decent broadband thanks to Verizon FIOS is one of the better things

Note to self: deploy “beer defense” around FIOS cables

In the Netherlands you can easily get 100Mbit/s symmetrical for less than $60,-. Didn’t know the UK was that bad.

$60 a month? Wow, thats good.

Is that just in cities or in rural areas too?

FiOS is indeed wonderful (unless you’re visiting from the Netherlands I suppose).

Seems to me that the availability of those high(er)-speed services would be a factor in the home real estate market but up to now I have not seen a lot of emphasis on that. Maybe that is changing now with the explosion of video services of one sort or another (streaming, video chat, gaming).

Netherlands is well connected, expand the list at the bottom of the page to find your country: http://www.speedtest.net/global.php#0

Wow, I got 20.7 mb/s down and 13.5 up with Verizon Fios and I’m in the Northwest suburbs of Philadelphia. Would LOVE to see what 100Mbit/s symmetrical would be like, especially for $60/month.

    Good luck with Virgin, Paul.
